It's all a bit of millennium bug mark2. Check the graph of the southern oscillation index from the 1800's till today. Changes in weather patterns will have to show up as anomalies there. There is nothing since about 1918/19. Search SOI graph on the BOM website. I've been around for79 years and I don't see anything I haven't seen before.
