You should read a little more about their battery development.
Hint … it’s not a case of replacing or reducing the amount of lithium in the battery, rather it relates to replacement of (typically) carbon or silicon anodes with … lithium metal anodes due to changes in the separator permitting lithium anode use.
My understanding is that their tech allows continued use of various different cathode materials in conjunction with their separator and anode technology so as to leverage off what the future may bring for cathodes. The image below, for example, shows how they anticipate existing LFP and Nickel rich Li batteries (NMC) could be improved for energy density via this method.
