Proofreader, you forget that not everyone in the market has the same knowledge base. Funnily enough, Warren Buffett doesn't seem to have the same problem as you on this issue!
I know of many knowledgeable investors who have never heard of it....some of whom are now shareholders because they can see the value of the sum of the parts. Others weren't interested on the basis that they are fully invested in their own favourite shares.
I'm absolutely certain that CFE is a great value proposition but that doesn't mean I've got 100% of my funds in it...far from it! There are plenty of great investment opportunities out there, each with their own time "DNA" as to when they will explode!
Look, investing is an art and is like art. Personally I think the Mona Lisa is crap...but my opinion doesn't frame the market or its value. Whatever my opinion, I have to appreciate that it is one of the worlds greatest masterpieces and worth mega-bucks that I can only dream of.
