but Australians are allowed to bring in 3 mths supply of unapproved therapeutic goods under three legal TGA personal importation scheme.
So with Viraleze produced internationally, approved by 35 regulators outside Australia and sold in 80+ countries, the company on line website sells from Netherlands - production Belgium. However TGA ordered that Starpharma block the website Viraleze.com to Australian IP addresses. Your have to find friends or relatives overseas to buy Viraleze (or Nasodine) and then mail to you after delivery overseas. You can see the real website as it appears everywhere in the World but using webarchive or using a VPN.
OK that may seem fair / maybe making it very difficult but we Aussies are good at finding ways!!
But look at antiviral nasal sprays competitor that TGA hasn’t approved but doesn’t restrict importation. Viz: another antiviral nasal sprays developed in Canada and produced in Israel and sold by IsraelPharmacy.com on-line - ENOVID can be not only accessed in Australia but Australian delivery addresses can be logged into the website and Australian credit cards used. So what will befall the Firebrick (international!!) sales into Australia is in the lap of the TGA gods
Is this consistent allowing foreign companies to do what ozzie companies can’t do. I’m about to write to the Minister and TGA and say WTF - why can’t Aussies using LEGAL personal importation import Viraleze and Nasodine using company websites as long as product is sent from overseas Place. Why is Enovid treated differently… I was encouraged to do so at the last Starpharma AGM
