The rapid decline in the RE oxide spot prices is having an impact on the SP. This race to the bottom will not be good for anyone, including the ailing Chinese economy. Xi clearly wants to wipe out all foreign competition in this area and he may think that this will be the fix to all his domestic problems but then again, he is surrounded by “yes” men and of course, he can not be wrong. It will be interesting to see if all the western governments, the ones endlessly sprouting how critical rare earths are to their security and economy, finally wake up to Xi’s strategy and slap 200% tariffs on the Chinese RE products?
Not holding my breath.
