Pork with taro:
In a small saucepan lightly simmer the following:
1 or 2 pieces red fermented bean curd.
2 tablespoons light soy sauce.
1 tablespoon brown sugar.
1 dessert oyster sauce.
1 dessert Shaoxing wine.
1 teaspoon xo sauce.
½ teaspoon five spice powder
¼ teaspoon ground white pepper.
¼ teaspoon dark soy sauce
3 small pods from a whole star anise
Slice 600 gm pork belly with the skin into steaks with.
Slice 500 gm taro into same sized steaks.
Coat in the following:
1 teaspoon brown sugar.
1 teaspoon salt.
½ teaspoon dark soy sauce.
½ cup olive oil.
¾ teaspoon pressed ginger.
1½ teaspoons pressed garlic.
1 tablespoon minced shallot.
½ teaspoon corn flour in 1 teaspoon water.
Half cook in the fan oven or air fryer.
Then cool and coat in the sauce.
On a heat proof dish layer the pork and taro.
Steam the steam oven for at least an hour.
