A lot of people now are wanting to draw comparisons with the decimated lithium prices in 2018-2020 but there's one big difference. In that period not many governments or car companies had set firm targets for EV uptake, unlike the present time. Even though world production of lithium has increased there can be no question that demand will increase dramatically going forward unless either the world reverses course on EVs (very unlikely) or a radically different battery type not using lithium becomes dominant. A lot of the current malaise is probably down to China's dominance in the marketplace. Weren't they the country that sent prices to ridiculous unsustainable levels in late 2022? Now they've overshot on the downside. Give this a few months and things will rebalance. For now a large shareholder can't do much other than sit it out in the meantime. I can't see many, if any, Top 20 holders selling now for peanuts. Let the smaller holders do that.
