The spot uranium market has been extremely active since month end and the spot uranium price continues to oscillate with TradeTechs Spot Uranium Price Indicator up $1.25 to $46.75 per pound U3O8. A total of eight transactions were concluded during the first three days of September. Producers and intermediaries were the buyers in the majority of the transactions. All eight transactions were concluded at prices above the August 31 Exchange Value with each transaction concluded at successively higher prices. One new buyer entered the market seeking offers for 260 thousand pounds U3O8 or equivalent UF6. With over 30 million pounds U3O8 already sold in the spot market this year, many sellers have met their sales goals for 2010 and spot supply available for immediate delivery is relatively thin. As a result, the spread between willing buyers and willing sellers widened this week, and several buyers extended their time horizon for delivery into the first quarter of 2011.
