Problem is it isn't cash it will be woodside shares so a relative value . So if fair value for TO id STO $10 what is the comparative WDS fair value and ratio. $10 to $30 woodside puts it as 3 STO for every 1 woodside ?

Better in ways as it will come with rollover relief in reference to taxation Even better if they make the effort and withhold dividend and pay as a capital return as an example or STO do so before TO enabled.

So $10 may be a number but it depends what number is used on the woodside part and if there is any other "smart" relief they can offer STO holders
Woodside relative to STO has been overvalued hence WDS opportunistic possible offer on STO. WDS has a couple of tough years ahead and it's stock will not be able to sustain divs IMO if it takes over STO and I would hate to see Aussie holders get assets forcibly sold down when there is so much opportunity going forward for both companies.


STO is undervalued 2 years out by a large margin as it will have projects online , some ready to part sell down after all hard and risk work is done and others spinning off cash in a large way all with scale at low cost curve position and best of all Alaska and PNG not under control of numpties in Aust Govt ( either brand as both sides will be chasing green vote to get through next election) .

Longer any deal hangs around for the longer both companies will stagnate as the instos have locked in positions and ratio trades so are just hunting margins not outright gains IMO. Thats the game apart from being long on oil gas industry with bad USA winter , Euro disruption likely and world stability low..
