This site is 1 day behind, unlike shortman that's 4 days behind, https://www.asx.com.au/data/shortsell.txt. Appen has seen 1.93% gross short yesterday, normally you only see this level of gross short for ETFs not individual stocks. This does not mean the total short increased by 1.93% as it's gross shorts not including the people who closed yesterday, but a sudden jump yesterday with the plunge in share price is not a good sign.
Furthermore, nasdaq ripped, I was expecting APX to go up 7-8% today. Not saying it won't recover strongly rest of this week. But if weakness continues while tech sector keeps on ripping, it's not a good sign.
