So you believe a fund will take on in an arm wrestle?
This is a big punt from the fund. The reason why I say this is that RG can just say no! The fund then is stuck in no-mans land, their cash is tied up with no exit in site and an offer well below their entry price. From RG's perspective, they have tied up a block and reduced the liquidity which normally results in lower SP's when there is a dominant majority shareholder with no interest or respect for minority shareholders.
If the fund capitulates the SP will dive and RG wins big.
It just doesn't smell right!
Could it be someone borrowing shares in the hope that an increased bid takes place? This to would play into RG's hands.
