A friend of mine who voted green is a talented arty type (who runs a successful retail business). Brought up in the lap of luxury, married a pot-smoking surfie.
When I asked her why she voted green and did she know much about their policies, all she could come up with was 'boatpeople...need to be treated with compassion'...and then told me she didn't want to argue about it...I just didn't understand! Being a civilised lunch, I let the issue lie!
From her answer and her reluctance to talk about anything, I can only assume she didn't know much about their policies. Wonder how many like her there are out there?
