YEah I agree. Personally I'd love the S3TC as it means an extra 7 or so grand off the bat- could be very handy in this COL crisis. But i would totally understand in govt want to remove or ammend them going forward, possibly making 32% rate go to 150k and keeping 37% for 150-200 etc
I think it's better for any pollie to be honest - "Look we have no plans as yet to scrap them, but these cuts will be reviewed in line with the new economic circumstances since they favour the high-income earners dramatically etc" - i think facing the claims of being a liar from Dutton where you can respond with "I am always reviewing every plan in the best interest of australians etc" than committing to it and being blasted for being out of touch and robbing the poor to feed the rich
Either way Albo says its been budgeted so im still hopeful I can score a tax break, but wont hold my breath
