Non-urban users pay the most for petrol in Australia and almost all have the roof space to install solar panels. I would have thought they’d have the most to gain from a (long range) EV. Out on the farm, having a portable electricity source built-in to your vehicle would be very valuable. Country people are generally conservative but that is exacerbated by the National Party and the Murdoch press with their obvious financial links to the fossil fuel industry.
