Cheers, you mean then punters making market orders rather than limit orders. Usually every bid involves one punter making a market order and one punter making a limit order.
Yep, agreed, it can be instructive to note that one side is making more market orders- either buyers or sellers- I look at that sometimes too.
Forgive my previous comments then.
The pattern today does not have to mean manipulation. Let me guess another scenario?
What if- as the SP fell there were few buy limit orders being triggered- and during the fall there were many sell limit orders that were trailing the trade completions- then at the bottom of the dip- the dip buyers come in with market orders and trigger a heap of sell limit orders. That scenario could produce the result that you noted. Possible?
I noted the opposite result when PLS fell and then recovered this morning- the VWAP can give the game away.
Anyway- thank you for your interesting take- yours is the sort of contribution that I value in HC.
