Science is driven by ‘evidence’ not ‘proof’. Example: in the real world we are certain the sun will rise tomorrow, based on evidence not proof. So according to scientific evidence, it’s just a well supported hypothesis. Sure it’s happened squillions of times before - but an unexpected event might stop the sun from rising tomorrow. Who knows?
Scientists tend to understate everything, it’s just their training.
