I believe Jesse Livermore also struggled to deal with the fact that shorting created human misery, which affected his mental health.
Shorting says a lot about your view of the world and your mental health.
What I love about shorters, who are always calling for market chaos and crashes, is that they don't even know what the social consequences of that could be with the potential social anarchy; they are delusional at best. because money will be worth nothing, lol.
