Yes, They are speculations but, they also are speculations that makes a lot of sense.
STO has been playing with us for a long time without doing anything much. Besides, (as somoene wrote) they have also refused a seat on the ESG Board.
I can't even remember as to when STO has paid a couple of billion dollars for anything, let alone the taking over of a company.
To me, and I could very well be wrong here, IMHO, it means that they have invested in ESG purely for speculative purposes, and they may be looking at other possibilities a little closer to where they need the gas, and companies that don't have a billion plus shares on the market.
That is the way I see it unfolding as well.
