I thought it was the coal itself that dicates the well type.
Ours is alrady fracced (a BIG plus) which allows the lateral concept.
Whichever, "industry lowest cost per unit of gas" means exactly that!
Specifically, more profit to the operator and/or a better competitive position.
And remember, gas is one of those products that have only one battlefield....PRICE!
