The easiest question is to ask, "is there any single thing that proves the existence of a "personal" god"?

The answer is a resounding NO.

You can argue about the creation of the universe etc., but like all of scientific understanding, there is much we don't understand BUT we understand more today than yesterday, and it continues.

If you want to call god, the sum of all cosmic forces then that is fair enough I suppose, but to personalise it is ludicrous.

Milleniums ago, there were so many unknowns that gods where the simple answer to natures vagaries.

I ask the question, "Today, with what we know about the world and science, would you have even thought about gods if you hadn't been indoctrinated?".

    The answer is obviously, "NO"!

However, if it provides comfort to those that can't face their mortality OR simply find the drudgery of life, intolerable, and can only continue because there must be something better, later, then go for it.

In fact, I find it sort of pathetic that Christians can only do good because of their faith. Without that faith, it implies they have no empathy and no independent reasoning that can guide them to constructive behaviour. Sad really!

I prefer reality, not wishful thinking.
