It seems the bottleneck in the Panama Canal is getting worse, not better.

As we know, our first shipment took about 60 days as it had to transit to China via the Cape of Good Hope.

There is the Suez Canal but it is still a very long route to Northern Asia.

The North West Passage is closed to shipping for most of the year, so that is out.

It is beginning to look like the Governments of the US and Canada will need to create something like the Strategic Oil Reserve for what little lithium is being mined in North America to remain viable.

They probably need to underwrite those companies that are in or near production.

“For months, a withering drought has created major traffic jams at the Panama Canal. The drought, which may have been exacerbated by climate change, has left the canal’s water levels lower than ever, forcing Panama to let fewer ships through. The restrictions have led to
delays, increased shipping costs, and uncertainty over the future of one of the world’s critical trade chokepoints.
