Guys - I am loving the options here but have to say not understanding what Ivanhoe see in the deal is all I can see. Look what Ivanhoe have done with the the ground they hold and how quickly they have done it. They have the runs on the board and the Exco ground is extremely prospective for more large company making discoveries. Drill deep and drill often seems to work for Ivanhoe and they can be credited with two of the best discoveries in the world in recent times (Merlin and Oyu Tolgoi). "Have money, will drill"

I think if you have limited funds and hold all responsibility to shareholders you become fast, lean and mean. If you have a bucket of cash and aren't wholly accountable you become fat, sloppy and slow.

Ivanhoe have some very good exploration tools (Aka Zuess) and personally with the record on the ground that they have there may well be more value in an Ivanhoe takeover than Xstrata even with a massive headstart owning the Ernest Henry plant which is only half full with an operating underground mine.

Read some of the history of Ivanhoe Australia and decide who you would like to manage your funds. For my two bob it's IVA all the way. Bring on Dr Zuess and the magic money maker.
