It’s actually not far off. If you assume that a single home uses 20 kWh each day, you can multiply by 365 to get the energy for a year: 7.3 MWh. Is 20 kWh typical? Dunno. It’s probably a little on the high end, but my usage is severely distorted by my solar panels and my car (which is pure electric), so I can’t use my own usage for any sort of baseline.
