Why do you think gold has never achieved the lofty altitudes predicted by dozens of experts' like Jim Sinclair, Jim Rickards, Peter Schiff and dozens of other gold salesmen? Because gold can be substituted when the price goes up...and it's recycled.
In inflation-adjusted terms, the gold price has been declining for years.
