I guess the only way to feel you have an impact on companies you invest in is by consoling yourself that your shares give you a vote on what happens with that company, but the reality for most small investors is that their votes count for nothing and in reality all you can do is sit back and go for the ride. As I said, if you want to make a difference, donate, volunteer or lobby. If you want to make money, invest.
