National Nominees holds shares for many shareholders who dont wish to hold shares in their own name.
The one national holding on the CDU register may represent 25 CDU individual shareholders. National Nominees dont decide to buy or sell but the individual holders do. The numbers against that account are the net result of all of those holders buying and selling.
Some may have sold out completely and others bought more. Nothing sinister there.
The broker settlement accounts appear on just about every company register. I have watched them over time elsewhere and most of the time they sit at zero balance. When there is more activity, allocations dont always get completed every day and shares sit in those broker accounts for a short time as they have to be somewhere. They quickly fall back to zero as the shares get allocated to the rightful owners.
Dont spend too much time on it though as its a pointless exercise Nev.Call your broker and ask him about what happens with their settlement account.
