Halleck Creek is stacking up to become a world class project which has the strategic scale and potentialto secure a stable, domestic supply of rare earths for the U.S. for many decades.”Dr. Yongqin Jiao, of LLNL commented on the results:"Our protein-based rare earth separation technologies continue to be advanced and are greatlyenhanced by this conventional beneficiation technique that will improve the economicviability. Removal of the gangue materials at the solid state enhances the concentration of the rareearth elements, creating an optimal solution feed for downstream bio-separation. The recentfindings by our collaborator Prof. Honaker at University of Kentucky, showcasing low-cost densityseparation coupled with magnetic separation of allanite, have a substantial impact on our overallprocess efficacy and economic feasibility. These findings contribute significantly to refining ourapproach and enhancing the efficiency of the rare earth element extraction process”Technical Information• 70% of gangue material is rejected early with Dense Medium Cyclones in the flowsheet bringingefficiencies in the downstream steps of processing.• DMS cyclones are conventional front-end separation technology utilised across the miningindustry and are well understood.• Flowsheet reconfigured such that DMS is the primary concentrator, supplemented by WHIMS.• Material treated by WHIMS reduced to 28% of the ore. Limiting the use of WHIMS significantlyenhances the processing economics of the pro
ject.• DMS and WHIMS separate REE bearing Allanite from barren gangue material which providesan effective average grade increase to 35,000 TREO or 3.5% TREO.• Only 7% of the total ore mass reports to the leach circuit (a rejection of 93% of ore mass).• High pressure grinding rolls (“HPGR”) in future testing and production will reduce the amountof fines, maximising the amount of material that can be treated using DMS and thus improveon results.• In a separate project being funded by the Company, the University of Kentucky is performingdetailed density fractionation test work reviewing mass yields for five density fractions and fourparticle sizes to obtain data to further optimise flowsheet design. This will turn out to be our strength as we work towards finalizing the PEA IMO
