Exactly. The major incumbents will no doubt be relying on their respective governments to bail them out by imposing massive tariffs on any imports, which they will no doubt oblige to try to protect their own industries (already hearing talk of it). But by being asleep at the wheel, their go slow strategy is simply giving China a massive head start in every other market that doesn't have an auto industry to protect.
