what annoyed me there was a small thing ..... the recycling of that old lie that "most wars " or sometimes "all wars " are decided by negotiation .
maybe (or not) we can put this one to bed forever:
When Hitler killed himself the allies were 1 km away near the centre of Berlin - does that sound like a negotiated settlement ?? When the russ bugged out of Afghanistan was that negotiated ? Or the yanks in Vietnam ? Did the Iraquis negotiate or were they simply beaten ? Japan were going to fight to the end ....until they were nuked ....you could argue they surrendered before they HAD to - but it was unconditional surrender ....not negotiated settlement . First world war the same . The communists over the Kuomntang . etc
Two obvious negotiated settlements come to mind .....the vast majority of wars decided militarily ....NOT by negotiation .
Lt- stopped spreading this lie ! (and all the others - tell me I'm wrong )
