Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has met with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv in the last few moments and said both countries are ready to finalise talks on investments to jointly produce ammunition and weapons.
Mr Tusk also said the countries have a common view on border issues that have been hampering transit of goods.
The Polish leader, who returned to power in Poland last month and is keen to show that a change in government will not bring a change in Ukraine policy, is also due to meet Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
His visit takes place the day after Moscow-installed officials in eastern Ukraine reported that Ukrainian shelling killed at least 27 people on the outskirts of a Russian-occupied city.
