Ann: PAA completes Phase 1 and files for Orphan Drug Designation, page-340

It's been a whacky old journey, I actually jumped aboard the PAA fun bus way back then because I was looking for something that could potentially treat early onset Alzeimers, which both my favourite author (Terry Pratchett) and a very dear friend of mine had been diagnosed with. I'd looked at antisense oligonucleotides and although I thought there was promise there, I didn't think it would bear fruit in our lifetimes. Something about the results of PharmAusts first human cancer trial made me think there might be something here though, although I didn't think they'd get to neurodegenerative conditions until after they'd got human cancer in the bag. Weird how things play out. Terry Pratchett is dead, my friend found out she was misdiagnosed. And Monepantel is breaking into the neurodegenerative space much sooner than I expected. Funny old world.
