I am pretty sure Tsingshan are customers of BHP and possibly Fortescue and others, ironic right !

I believe this is part of a ploy for Chinese control of nickel. Indo / Chinese nickel companies are happy to bring conventional producers to their knees with low prices.

I do not believe many buyers of nickel want to pay a premium for nickel used in batteries or steel.

NIC will come out with a ok 6 month report. The message will be others are stopping production NIC and others similar will grow and take that market share, nickel still has incredibly strong demand just supply is strong too.

Not sure why BHP has not made an offer for NIC. Some have said BHP don't want Chinese partners but I doubt that, they will do business anywhere and with anyone, BHP is about making money after all. Again I am sure Tsingshan and BHP already do business.
