The existing policy for use of excess capital does allow the company to undertake share buy backs - and likely doesn’t need to announce it until after they start to do so.
Can you imagine the shorter reactions if they were to find out that PLS had started to undertake share buyback - “opps, those are shares we will not be able to buy to unwind our short position…”.
Could happen at any moment and if done so my guess is it would be done with notice given after it started.
It’s a brave short position that hangs on now given the low unit operating costs, expansion of offtake and on budget P680 (oh and P1000 proceeding).
