That's more than a throw away line. They would certainly be the old guard, the "life's comfortable in opposition" crowd if not actual (D). They are not MAGA and will be told to sit down and do as they are told in the next administration, regardless who wins. They won't be welcome in either tent.
Remember NH primaries are open so many (D) would have voted to soften Trump's win.
