But the chamber is drained via the blow down kit....you don't blow down MPSR/SPMC bottles without the proper rig. If part of the blow down kit fails while the sample is running through it what happens then? If its a plug that fails then you have a high velocity projectile flying through the air and bouncing off the walls of the MDT shack...or the side of someones head. A hose coupling.......a hose becomes a lethal whip.

5000psi is the working pressure. If SLB exceeded the working pressure of their equipment the person making that decision would be down the road. If an IVZ supervisor coherced SLB into using the kit they'd be down the road as well. Like I noted above most of the idiots who wouldn't think twice about taking such risks with peoples lives have been weeded out from the oil and gas industry.

It's not an ideal situation. I would have expected the IVZ QA/QC guys to have checked certification for the sample bottles and the blow down kit.
