Howard was as diplomatic as could be. after all he was Abbott's mentor.
imo Abbott was forever in Opposition mode but once he got the job, he had no-one to oppose so, imo, he opposed himself.
he went entirely the opposite direction to his election promises. he not only broke them, instead of reducing wasted taxpayer money he caused inefficiencies and sacked 15,000 public servants who were necessary for doing the work that Govt decided had to be done.
then he employed others which cost more to employ and didn't have the standard of skills or knowledge to do the work.he doubled the debt in just 2 years. at least the GFC cost in debt took 5 years to accumulate.
he was always a pretender imo. he didn't have the skills or knowledge to do his job.
neither did Hockey.
this is the same problem we are facing with the Lab Govt. its just that at least Chalmers and Wong know what they're doing.
