So if they plan to do that id say thats why lithium miners started really getting that exploration progressing, its probably more doable now than it was when the article mentioning 50 - 160 years worth of current us lithium production was written, however it is still a sizeable amount as you can see. I can assure you if the US gets a fusion reactor most other countries will go down the same path, so we will need ALOT of lithium and governments will pay, have you ever looked at the budgets for infrastructure, its massive.
