I totally disagree with your statement. I would say share price is simply market cap divided by the number of shares on issue. The share price is irrelevant. We would all be better investors if markets and analysts quoted market cap instead of share price. It doesn't tell you everything, but allows you to decide what you think the business is worth based on everything you know about it.
