People seem to be forgetting the augers are for low cost scouting of higher grade zones to follow up with RC and DD holes to build the actual resource from. Off course not all the auger holes are going to be great as they are essentially greenfield holes.
MEI had the head start with the Japanese already drilling out a lot of Caldeira so they already knew where to drill for headline results. VMM essentially starting from scratch, hit rate has still be outstanding despite this.
