My point regarding politicians making political statements is that because it's their area of jurisdiction they carry weight. Politics is outside of Cummins jurisdiction so what he says is of no particular import to China or anyone else. He has no authority to do anything, so what he says might be of interest, but it's not of importance. Regarding corporations what you said was that they are not entitled to make political statements. Plainly they are entitled to make them, because they do so with impunity. Your view is that they shouldn't.
