Hey Tangrams,
Options are the fun part!!!
I don't think anyone buying them feels the RSL heads won't make 20c in the next 2 years!!! They are cheap in the sense that you can buy 100,000 for $3,100.00 whereas 100,000 shares would cost $13,000.00. You point is well made though!!! They are technically worth "minus - 7c!!!"
Because if you converted them today, you would pay an extra 20c per share to do so. On the 100,000 example, you would end up paying (100,000 x 3.1c + 100,000 x 20c = $23,100.00...for 100,000 RSL shares you can buy for $13,000.00 today!!! ; nett loss $10,100.00!!!)
But if RSL went to 40c...100,000 RSL shares would cost $40,000.00 and you have got them for $23,100.00...nett profit of $16,900.00!!!
Conclusion: massive gearing in both directions...if you like gambling and won't cry if you loose...do RSLO...if you like speculative investments...do RSL!!!
If you like variety...do both!!!
Cheers
RSL/RSLO holder
