i understand what you are saying, but dont think for a second its any different in the east. here in melbourne for example the sprawling suburbs dont get their dual carraigeways to carry tens of thousands to work or public transport connections UNTIL the suburb is completely done, finished, done. i am talking about 10-20 years after the traffic is already a nightmare. suburbs on melbournes western & northern fringe are prime examples. not enough swinging voters out there to get the work a higher priority.
