The curious thing about religion is that I find countries with strong religious culture tend to prosper.
Look around the world, developed countries have strong Christian networks.
The Muslims are blessed with oil.
Atheist countries like North Korea is going on a no-end downhill trip. Interesting about China, although the state is officially atheist, many Chinese believe in some religion or honour religious traditions or superstitions.
Let's no debate the existence of a Supreme One (be God or other deity). We can all agree religion, if not instigated for hidden motives, makes us better human beings.
Religion, be it Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or any other, provides us with the moral compass. Religion helps people explore their conscience and find that trait of enlightenment that differentiates men from beasts.
When religion is abandoned or purposefully destroyed, catastrophe ensues.
