most modern vid cards will run 2 monitors with some running 4 or more (pricey) . most motherboards have multi PCIe slots so running multi cards is pretty easy , one thing to watch for though is that many high performace vid cards are very wide with inbuilt fans , this can restrict slotting multicards in as they can take up the space of a few slots . my new machine will have 8 monitor capacity , make sure you have excess ram ( im going 6mb ) and good processor ( i7 quad core for me ) box to run 8 monitors can be built for less than 2k excluding monitors . XP on allows you to confgure monitors and almost endless combinations . W7 is very easy , almost plug and play
