''Banks, supermarkets, aviation and energy companies are exploiting their market power in ways that drive up inflation and hurt Australian households, according to the former chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
The report by Allan Fels found that rising prices were not just caused by true inflation but often by greed, corporate gouging and "profit pushing" by companies with too much market power.'

but our resident expert - madam - on here told us over and over that there was no price gouging and she had all the little annual reports of companies to prove it to us

who woulda thought ------------------------- now, do I believe Alan Fels, or do I believe madam on hc?

    big decision

I think the report overlooked 'insurance companies' --------- charging atrocious premiums to old fellas in the bush to insure their small house

haven't heard from madam on that one either
