He said Alreco was a wholly owned subsidiary of Macquarie Harbour Mining and was continueing to provide robust monthly revenue during a technology upgrade.
August gross revenue was $511,824 slightly down from the July figure of $521,648 he said.
The Moolap technology upgrade was well advanced and two 40-tonne grinding mills would be installed next week.
The mills enable salt slag to be separated into 3 components of aluminium metal (10-20 per cent) aluminium oxide (30-40 per cent) and a salt potasium chloride blend (50 per cent)
The aluminium metal can be smelted into ingots, the salt and potasium chloride (potash) can be reused in the smelting process and the aluminium oxide can be used in a variety of products, including cement.
Mr Mead said the company was in positive negotiations with a number of smelters in the United States.........more to follow
