They changed their policy to try and equalise the 4 quarterly div payments.
Beforehand (and now again) they paid 3 x conservative divs then the final is the balancing div to pay out 100pc of earnings.
Last year they tried to equalise and paid 13c/qtr x 3 because they thought forecast earnings to be 56c . As the year went on, and particularly the final quarter, the margins were squeezed mostly due to rising costs, and the final div only turned out to be 2.5c. THe share price plummeted on this day last year
