I can understand his perspective. He is not saying "Poland forced Hitler to invade", in a vacuum. He is saying there were struggles/issues going on, and some of the decisions by Poland [and others] pushed Germany toward war. [There was another invasion date earlier than 1st Sept. if I recall correctly, but Hitler backed down on that plan the night it was being prepared]
