The BOM website tells me that the daytime temperature in the area has been above 40C and is predicted to be above 40 every day for the next week or so.
Now tell me "In these conditions, who is going to light a fire with a 50, or so, meter flame, or allow anyone to light one, unless it absolutely essential?
I hardly think that - It will stop a few nervous nelly's from soiling there underwear - makes it to ranks of "absolutely essential".
