I agree, it is NIMBYism at it's finest. It also smacks of hypocrisy when the NSW Government fully supports the Narrabri CSG project where there is likely to be 1,000 wells, this contradicts the stated intention of the NSW legislation which is to reduce the risk of greenhouse gas emissions? And Federally, the pristine beaches/tourism argument doesn't stack up when they continue to approve seismic testing and offer new acreage releases off The Twelve Apostles, the Bellarine Surf Coast, the Phillip Island Penguin colony, and the 90 Mile beach in Victoria and the equivalents in WA. It is becoming more and more apparent that the vocal minority of the Northern Beaches is the driver of this NSW policy. I definitely choose that location for the next blackout.
